When you apply a name to your pictures on your blog, you are adding keywords to the picture that will help with your Search Engine Optimization. This is very important to your blog. By adding a keyword to the picture, Google can find that word, or words, add it to their search engine, and people will be directed to your blog via these key words.
Sounds pretty easy. Right? Well, maybe not. How in the world do you add a description (keyword) to your pictures?
For many months, I thought that when you added a watermark to your picture in Picmonkey, renamed and saved it, the picture was then ready to be placed on your blog post. Well, I thought wrong. When you save it to your computer from Picmonkey, the picture is saved with the name you applied to it. But then, when you upload the picture to your blog, the name is not added.

Here, in this tutorial, is how you add a name, or keywords, to your picture in Blogger.
When you are creating your post, add your picture where you want it in your blog post.

Then click on that picture.
The picture will be highlighted and a list box will appear.
Click on the properties tab.
An image properties box will be displayed.
Fill in appropriate keywords that relate to the picture. (Note: I did read that Google does not like when you add too many keywords. So just be specific.)
Click, OK.
Now when you hover over the picture your key words will be displayed. Thus, making it easier for Google to find your post. Then, your post will be seen by others when they type in the key words you used for your picture.
I hope this has helped. I, only recently, discovered this process. So, needless to say, I have been busy adding keywords to my older posts.

Have a blessed day!
