White chocolate goodness. Great for watching the snow melt. |
A few of us are still waking up to ice and snow. This gluten free, vegan white chocolate is a change of pace from instant hot chocolate. Just five ingredients and you have yourself a warm treat. One of the ingredients is white chocolate. Need I say more?
Ingredients-
2 cups almond milk
1/2 cup chopped white chocolate chunks
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon almond extract
Dash of salt
Healthy Ingredients. Yes, almonds are healthy. |
Directions-
Bring the almond milk to a boil, then pour over the white chocolate chunks in a heat safe bowl. Add the sugar, almond extract, and salt and stir until all is dissolved. Serve immediately.
(Some separation will occur as the hot cocoa cools.)
This is another wonderful recipe from the Great Gluten-Free Vegan Eats cookbook.
What new recipes are you adding, knowing that spring is right around the corner?
It's spring here near the coast of Virginia Kathy. I can't imagine still having ice and snow. I like hot beverages year round though. This looks really good. Going to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sally. It will warm up soon enough. Not ready to get out the mower. ;)
DeleteWe still have some ice and bits of snow, too, Kathy. Good recipe! These kids love hot chocolate. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diana. Have a great weekend. Happy Easter!
DeleteYummy.
ReplyDeleteAs to the separation, it's simple to keep a tea spoon in the mug, I think. To give it a stir, now and then. :-)
Not thinking of spring recipes, actually. My husband is the Resident Chef and he is always (!!!!) noticing recipes!!!!
Have a lovely weekend,
Tessa
Thank you Tessa. A tea spoon does work well! Have a Happy Easter! xo
DeleteLooks scrumptious! over from 40+
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by! What a great group! :)
DeleteI hope we have seen the last of our snow for this year! This recipe looks great, Kathy! I wonder if it would taste as good with Stevia? I'm always trying to reduce sugar...ugh.
ReplyDeleteHi Julie. I do not know how it would taste with Stevia. I have tried it and I did not care for it. I do like the sugar in the ingredient picture though. And I try to reduce sugar and fail miserably. :)
DeleteI have never thought of having white hot chocolate! I was wondering if the chocolate chunks have sugar in them already would I still need to add anymore? Oh, I'm looking forward to the repair blog train post in May :-)
ReplyDeleteAgy Lee, the chocolate is sweet so maybe you could cut the added sugar in half. I am looking forward to this event also. Deciding what to I want to repair. Thank you for stopping by. :)
DeleteOh boy, Kathy, that looks amazing! We still have spots of snow left in the yard, but truth be told, I would put on the AC in July for an excuse to drink this! ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet comment Kim!!
DeleteHave a great week! :)
